The handset is fitted with a 4.5 Inch display with 854 x 480 pixel FWVGA resolution and will be powered by Intel Atom Z2520 dual core processor with Hyper Threading enabled. The processor will be assisted by 1 GB RAM and 8 GB expandable internal memory, which can be further expanded by another 64 GB using SD card.

On the rear surface, there is a 5 MP PixelMaster rear autofocus camera with flash and f/2.0 lens coupled with a VGA front-facing camera with f/2.8 lens for selfies. The 2100 mAh battery is an improvement when compared to Zenfone 4. Other features include 3G, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, A-GPS, Glonass, dual SIM and Micro-USB. Out of the box, this new budget Zenfone will be running Android 4.4 KitKat. The handset features the same Zenfone series design and will be available in multiple colors.
