Coolpad Note 5 Lite Physical Overview
The Coolpad Note 5 Lite is a simple looking phone, but yes the chrome antenna bands still deserve the appreciation. It has dark grey chamfered edges on the sides and has minimal camera protrusion at the back. Its dimensions are 145.3 x 72.3 x 8.7 mm, so it fits in hands pretty easily and one hand usage is possible at all times. Let’s look at the phone from all possible angles.
On the front, you will find the 5 inch HD IPS LCD display. Above the display, the front camera, front LED flash, ambient light sensor, notification LED and the earpiece are placed.
Below the display, you will find nothing but the three capacitive navigation buttons.
The right side of the phone houses the power button and the SIM card slot.
On the left, you will find the volume rocker.
Coming to the backside, you will find the main camera towards the top. Next to it is the LED flash. Just below the camera sensor, the fingerprint sensor is placed. Above the camera sensor, there is a secondary earpiece for noise cancellation.
As you come towards the bottom, you will find the Coolpad branding and the loudspeaker.
Coming to the top of the phone, the 3.5mm audio jack is housed there. Other than that, it is bare.
The bottom houses the microUSB port.
Display
The Coolpad Note 5 Lite comes with a 5 inch IPS LCD display with 1280 x 720 pixels of HD resolution and pixel density of ~294 PPI. Display has good colors and can be seen in daylight as well. Adaptive brightness works well and colors adapt to that easily. The display is above average level.
Camera Overview
The Coolpad Note 5 Lite has 13 MP rear and 8MP front camera. We tested the camera in 3 lighting conditions i.e. daylight, low-light and artificial light; overall I must say the camera performed decently. However, you should have stable hands to click a clear picture in low-light, but that’s not something to be bothered on. Autofocus speed is average, but the picture processing is quite good. Daylight images are good and even the artificial light images walked along quality. Low light images needed my hand to be stable and even the image processing time was delayed by 1 or so seconds. But, Coolpad Note 5 Lite focused the subject with minimum difficulty and clicked decent pictures in all the light conditions even in low light.
Gaming Performance
Coolpad Note 5 Lite doesn’t come with a big screen but offers a lag free and smooth gaming session. I played Modern Combat 5 for about 15 minutes, keeping the battery levels at 30%. The battery didn’t drop as expected and dropped by 4% in 15 minutes. The phone got a little warm, but this is normal.

Coolpad Note 5 Lite is a good option for people looking for an affordable and feature packed phone. The camera works fine and even the camera app is decent. There was a little lag while switching between applications but for a phone in this budget, it is acceptable. Gaming performance was also good, without any major lags and frame drops. Overall, this is a decent phone at a decent price.
