We all know how our Voter ID Cards come in black and white print and how we look in the picture on it. Not easily recognizable, right? Well not anymore, the ECI (Election Commission of India) has now announced a revamped color voter ID card, which can easily be ordered online. It will be issued to anyone who wants to replace that old black and white voter card with a new Color Voter ID card online or offline by paying a fee of Rs 30. Get Color Voter ID Card online

1] Open any browser and visit the National Voter’s Service Portal (NVSP) at nvsp.in

2] Click on the Voter Portal from the home screen and you will be redirected to a new page of Voter Portal at voterportal.eci.gov.in

3] Register here by Clicking on Create an account and then enter your Email ID and click on the “Continue” button.

4] You will receive a link in your email. Open it from there to complete registration by creating a password. 5] After that, click on “Replacement of Voter ID” and it will take you to a new page where a digital assistant “Voter Mitra” will show up. Click on Let’s Start at the bottom.

6] The next page will ask you if you already have a Voter ID number or not. Click on Yes and enter your Voter ID number in the given box and click on Fetch details. 7] If it finds your record, it will show a Proceed button, click on it and a new page with your details will open. 8] Click on Continue for Replacement of Voter ID and click Continue again.

9] It will ask for your mobile number then, fill it and click on Send OTP. Enter OTP in the given box and click on Verify.

10] Now, you’ll have to enter your “Reason for Replacement of Voter ID” and click on Save and Continue below. 11] Now, it will show you three options:

i) I will collect Voter ID from VRC/CSC, ii) I wish to receive my Voter ID by Post, and iii) I will collect Voter ID from BLO. 12] Choose your preferred medium and pay Rs. 25 in offline methods, and if you want to get it delivered by post and Pay Rs. 30 online and click Save & Continue.  13] It will then show a form on the portal and click on Submit.

The authority will issue the Colour Voter ID card after the verification of your details and documents. You can track the status of your application at the NVSP portal by using a reference ID/acknowledgment ID sent to your registered email.

How to get Color Voter ID offline

Alternatively, you can get the colored voter card offline also. You can visit the nearest e-Seva office or MEE Seva office in your area and submit the application for a new voter card. You will get the color card after your documents are processed. Voter ID is an important document for every citizen of India who is above 18 years of age, as it gives the right to cast vote. A voter card, also called Electoral Photo ID Card (EPIC), is not just for casting votes in an election but it is also an identity and address proof.
