The HTC One A9 hopes to regain the ground HTC lost with its M9 and rectify the M9’s pitfalls. for starters, the A9 is a mid-ranger with a quad-core Snapdragon 617 processor, a 2150 mAh battery with quick charge, a 5-inch FHD screen and 2 GB/3 GB RAM options with 16 GB/32 GB of internal storage respectively.
The One A9 has the pleasure of being the first phone on the market with Android 6.0 Marshmallow baked in, out of the box(apart from the new Nexus phones, of course), customised with HTC’s latest iteration of its HTC Sense skin. HTC also incorporated a fingerprint scanner in its physical home button- a capacitive implementation as opposed to a clickable one. Expandable storage is present too, with the storage limit being pushed up to 200 GB with a microSD card. Cameras have been all the rage this year with almost every OEM trying to distinguish itself using this singular aspect and the A9 is no different. The rear camera is a 13MP unit with a dual-tone flash and Optical Image Stabilisation. Up front is a 4MP camera that retains HTC’s ‘ultrapixel‘ configuration.
Some other things to note about the A9 are its inclusion of Gorilla Glass 4 and that HTC has included the BoomSound speakers on this phone. The phone will be available in four colours: Carbon Gray, Opal Silver, Topaz Gold and Deep Garnet. We think this has been the most exciting news out of HTC in a long while and may give the company a jumpstart from a previously stagnated sales figure.
