Physical Overview

Starting with the physical overview of the phone, on the front of the device, you’ll find the 5-inch HD display along with touch capacitive buttons on the bottom of the screen. On the top of the screen, you’ll find the earpiece and the 2-megapixel selfie camera.

On the back of the device, you’ll find a plastic back cover that can be removed to find replace the battery, place the sim cards and the microSD card. The back of the phone has a textured feel in the hand that gives it a good grip. On the back, you’ll also find the camera and an LED flash.

On the bottom of the device, you will find the microUSB port for charging and data sync and the primary microphone to record audio on the smartphone.

On the top of the phone, you’ll find the 3.5mm headphone jack that you can use to connect any headphone or headset to the phone.

On the right edge of the phone, you’ll find the power button and the volume rocker as well. The volume rocker is located towards the top of the edge, whereas the power button is just below the volume rocker.

User Interface

The user interface on the device is a bit stock-like, but a bit colourful to my taste. The icons on the home screen are rounded icons just like the ones we’ve come to see on Chinese smartphones like the ones from Xiaomi. The settings app and the notification drop down are just like the ones in stock Android. The App Drawer also is a bit modified with Intex’s own launcher.

Gaming Performance

The Intex Cloud Crystal 2.5D features a 1GHz Quad-Core CPU with 3GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage, which can be expanded via a microSD card up to 32GB in size. Going by the specifications, the phone is not really a gaming phone, and can not handle games like Nova 3 or Asphalt 8. But it can still run games like Dead Trigger 2 and Modern Combat 5, with a few lags in Modern Combat 5. Here are the gaming results of the device. [table id=423 /]

Intex Cloud Crystal 2.5D Performance and Benchmark Scores

With the processor and the RAM that the phone has, I did not expect it to have a great benchmark score, and I was right. The benchmark scores for the device when tested using Antutu, Geekbench 3, Quadrant Standard and Nenamark2 were as follows. They are nothing impressive, but they are what you get for the price. Verdict

The Intex Cloud Crystal 2.5D is a phone that features a budget processor, with a huge amount of RAM, but the overall performance of this phone isn’t great. It is still decent, and can survive a few games that you throw at it. Other than that, the device isn’t anything special. I’ve seen a few other smartphones priced similarly but with a much better performance anyway.
