Display and Processor

Karbonn Titanium Octane as well as the Titanium Octane Plus come with a 5 inch display but the difference comes in the resolution of the two devices. The Titanium Octane gets a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels and the Octane Plus gets a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels. The Octane Plus comes across as a better device in this regard. Both of them get the same processor under the hood. They get a MT6592 octa core processor clocked at 1.7 GHz and it gets coupled with a Mali 450 GPU. The difference however comes in the RAM department. The Titanium Octane gets a 1GB RAM and the Titanium Octane Plus gets a 2GB RAM. So in this regard, the Titanium Octane Plus is expected to be a better performer.

Camera and Internal Storage

The Titanium Octane gets a 13MP at the rear and it gets coupled with a 5MP front camera. On the other hand, the Titanium Octane Plus gets a 16MP camera at the back and an 8MP camera at the front. During the short stint of time we had with the devices, we realised that the Titanium Octane Plus produced better quality images and was a better unit as well.

Both the smartphones get an internal storage capacity of 16GB and it can be expanded via a microSD card by another 32GB. So there are no favourites in this regard.

Battery and Operating System

The Karbonn Titanium Octane and the Titanium Octane Plus get a 2,000 mAh battery to juice them up. The former however will last for more hours as compared to the latter because it has a lower resolution screen to power. But you will always get lesser backup with more powerful screens so you need to take that as well into consideration. Both run on Android 4.4 KitKat and this is the part which makes the most happy about things. Eventhough none of them comes across as a better one, we are sure that you won’t be disappointed in this regard whichever way you go.
