We had been expecting to see a smartphone of the calibre of say, a Sony Xperia Z1 Compact. However, the LG G2 Mini comes with specifications that are far from flagship. It packs the same quad-core CPU, i.e., Qualcomm Snapdragon 400, that comes with the Motorola Moto G, a device that took the Indian market for a spin. Having said that, it is worthy to note that a an NVIDIA Tegra 4i powered version might be pegged for later. Even the display isn’t as ‘mini’ as you would expect, measuring a good 4.7 inches (for reference, that’s what comes with the full-sized HTC One). This 4.7-inch panel does a qHD resolution of 960 x 540 pixels, at par with budget devices in the country that go for around 10,000 INR. On the storage front, the G2 mini features 1GB of RAM (exactly like the Moto G) along with 8GB of on-board ROM. There’s an 8MP camera at the rear along with a 1.3MP front to take care of your imaging needs, along with the iconic G2-style rear controls. All this will be powered by a 2440mAh battery, which does sound impressive. With 4.5 Inch HD display Moto G already available in India, this phone sounds like a tough sale. No word on pricing and/or availability yet, stay tuned for more info on the LG G2 Mini!
