Apart from octa core A290, Indian Smartphone Manufacturer Micromax will also introduce another budget Android phone Micromax A108 with a 5.5 inch phablet sized display. Judging by the model number, we can expect this to feature quad core processor and Android KitKat like other recent Micromax phones.
Micromax has recently launched several other devices in its A10X series led by Unite 2 A106, including Micromax Canvas Fire 2 A104, Micromax Canvas Entice A 105. The common trait in these devices is quad core chipset, 5 MP/VGA Camera combination and Android 4.4.2 KitKat. Also all these phones show variation in display size. It’s too soon to comment on the specification of this phone but since more than 10,000 units have already been shipped in India, we can expect official release very soon. Micromax has been on an aggressive launch spree since last couple of months but most devices feature similar hardware with one or two added features. With Canvas Fire series, the company tried to reinvent its design language and added a dual frontal speaker which was a nice touch. Micromax also launched it’s first Hexa Core smartphone, Canvas HD Plus recently in the mid range segment where it will compete with formidable foes like Xiaomi Mi3. We are excited to see if Micromax A108 will be just another Micromax budget quad core phone with 2000 mAh battery or perhaps surprise us with some new shiny feature. We are however more eager to see what Google and Micromax are brewing as part of Android One program.
