While the name of the device that is likely to be launched remains unknown, it is likely Motorola will release the Droid Turbo smartphone that was launched exclusive for US carrier Verizon Wireless to enter the Indian market. The device was announced as Moto Maxx for the global regions, but it did not make its way into India still. This tips that the Moto Maxx will be launched in India via Flipkart soon.

The highlight of the Moto Maxx is that it comes with black Ballistic Nylon back that is light weight and incorporates highly strong aluminum design. Also, the device boasts of a water resistant build that will enable rigged usage. When it comes to specs, the Moto Maxx carries a 5.2 inch AMOLED display that carries a Quad HD resolution of 2560×1440 pixels resulting in a pixel density of 565 pixels per inch. The device is layered with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection that adds to its strength.

In terms of raw hardware segment, the Moto Maxx is energized by a 2.7 GHz quad core Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 processor teamed up with Adreno 420 graphics unit and 3 GB of RAM. This hardware is supplemented with 32 GB or 64 GB of native storage space that cannot be expanded further as there no micro SD card slot onboard. Launched with Android 4.4 KitKat operating system onboard, the Moto Maxx is upgradeable to Android 5.0 Lollipop. A 21 MP main camera occupies the rear of the Moto Maxx and it is backed by dual LED flash, 4K video recording support and f/2.0 aperture. There is a 2 MP front facer as well onboard for video conferencing and clicking self portrait shots. The other goodies of the Moto Maxx smartphone include 4G LTE, 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS, GLONASS and NFC for connectivity. A 3,900 mAh battery powers the smartphone from within rendering a decent backup to it. The Flipkart listing does not reveal when the device is expected to be launched or its approximate pricing, but it is expected that the launch will take place in the coming days. This should be priced somewhere close Motorola Nexus 6 and it will be interesting to note how much sense the price difference between the two makes.
