According to the latest report by Chinese publication Vtechgraphy, Nokia might be planning to unveil a flagship device with a Penta-lens camera setup at the back. The report citing a Foxconn employee states that the leaked information about the Nokia device suggests that the company might start mass production of the smartphone by mid-2018. The report further suggests the mentioned Nokia smartphone will be bearing seven circular cut-outs at the back, five of which will house camera lenses and two will be LED flashlights. The five cameras are said to be enclosed together at the back of the smartphone in a shape resembling a circular shower head identical to the Lumia 1020. The report says that the Nokia smartphone with Penta lens setup is supposed to go into mass production by mid-2018. So, it might come to the market in the first half of the year. However, there is no confirmation of the said Nokia smartphone at MWC 2018. Though it is speculated that this could be the phone that HMD Global’s Product officer Sarvikas referred to when he tweeted that something “awesome” is coming at the event scheduled for February 25. If we talk about more cameras on a smartphone, it might be a trend to watch out for this year after some quad camera devices we saw recently. As far as Nokia’s smartphone is concerned, we can expect the device to use its Penta lens setup for shooting 360-degree videos and some Augmented Reality features. Apart from leaking details about the Nokia phone with five cameras, the report stating Foxconn employee further reads that HMD Global is also working to launch a special Blue color variant with Gold embellishments, of its Nokia 6 (2018) in Asia-Pacific which was launched recently in China. Moreover, the Nokia 9 flagship might also be unveiled at MWC on February 25.
