The card has been designed for extreme conditions. It is water proof, temperature proof, shock proof, X-ray proof and magnet proof. This also makes it, the world’s largest capacity MicroSD card, with write speed of 90MB/ second, which means you can transfer 1200 pics per minute and can hold up to 20 hours of full HD videos. Sandisk is targeting mobile users with this high capacity premium SD card, but current generation smartphones don’t go beyond 128 GB microSD support. Nevertheless it is amazing how the company managed to fit so many bits within confined SD card space. Availability is scheduled for Q2 2015. Consumers will get a 10 year warranty with this MicroSDXC card. Sandisk also introduced some hybrid devices along with a 32 GB dual USB drive with Type C USB connector. Sandisk also showcased high capacity iXpand drives which are used to transfer pictures and video from iOS devices to Mac PCs. These 128 GB iXpand drives will cost $150 and are available for purchase on official Sandisk websites.
