Earlier, we have seen multiple reports suggesting that Xiaomi is working on a new budget smartphone, dubbed as Redmi Note 5 featuring the bezel-less 18:9 display. The reports also suggested that along with the Redmi Note 5, it might launch two more phones, Redmi 5 and Redmi 5 Plus. The Redmi Note 5 was also spotted on the TENAA’s website last month revealing some details, however, we now have more details in a leak that surfaced on Chinese social media site Weibo.
Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Specifications
The biggest change we can see in Redmi Note 5 from its predecessor, the Redmi Note 4 is its design with the near bezel-less display. The leaked blurry picture is clear enough to confirm the earlier rumors that Redmi Note 5 will feature an 18:9 display. The leaked hands-on image shows the 5.99-inches display with 1080 x 2160 pixels resolutions with a pixel density of ~403 PPI. The Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 seems to come with MIUI 9 on top of Android 7.1.2. On one hand, the leaked image on MyDrivers suggests that the device could come with two selfie cameras. However, it is clear that it will come with a single camera since hands-on image mentions a 12MP rear camera only. Moreover, powering the phone is yet again Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 chipset paired with 4GB RAM and what looks to be 64GB of total storage. The phone will be powered by a 4,000mAh battery. These leaks suggest that Xiaomi will soon officially launch its latest Redmi Note device and it’ll be interesting to see what price tag the company settles on for the Redmi Note 4’s successor. It is to be mentioned that the Redmi Note 4 which has been a huge hit, especially in India, because of its specs in budget price. It is expected that Xiaomi will price the Redmi Note 5 competitively.
