Xiaomi is known for solid build quality of their devices and the Redmi Note 5 Pro is no exception. This device also comes with a metal unibody design and refined bezels which make it look good. The vertically stacked rear cameras also add to the premium feel of the device.

Powerful hardware

The device is equipped with an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 processor clocked at 1.8GHz. This processor is coupled with Adreno 509 GPU and up to 6GB RAM and 64GB of internal storage. The storage on the device can be further expanded via a microSD card. Additionally, the device is powered by a huge 4,000mAh battery. Cameras

Talking about the optics now, the latest Redmi Note 5 features a vertically set up dual camera module at the back. This module has a 12MP + 5MP sensor combination which is aimed at adding depth effect. Coming to the front, Xiaomi has left no stones unturned with a 20MP selfie camera with dedicated flash.

During our initial testing, we found that the cameras needed some refinement in terms of edging in the bokeh effect and we expect the company to take corrective measures via OTA updates later.

MIUI 9

Having used the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro for a while, we noticed that the MIUI performance on the device is smooth and fluid. The transitions are neatly taken by the new 18:9 aspect ratio and the apps also work well on the phone. Overall, the MIUI 9 makes it a good experience to use the Redmi Note 5 Pro.
