In terms of memory, the device will be available in 3GB + 32GB / 4GB + 64GB storage options. The internal storage can be further expanded up to 256GB via a microSD card. In terms of performance, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 easily beats the Moto G6 with its much powerful Snapdragon 636 SoC. The Snapdragon 450 SoC that Motorola has used in the Moto G6 is used by Xiaomi in its budget devices such as the Xiaomi Redmi 5 which is priced at Rs. 7,999, which is half of what the Moto G6 base variant is priced at. The camera comes with phase detection autofocus, LED flash, HDR and portrait mode. On the front, the device sports a 20MP selfie camera with f/2.2 aperture and an LED flash.

Coming to the Moto G6, the device comes with a similar dual camera setup at the back consisting of a 12MP primary camera with f/1.8 aperture and a 5MP secondary camera with f/2.2 aperture. It comes with phase detection autofocus, LED flash, auto-HDR and portrait mode. On the front, it sports an 8MP selfie camera with f/2.2 aperture and an LED flash. While the primary cameras of the Redmi Note 5 Pro and Moto G6 are very similar, the Redmi Note 5 Pro comes with a better selfie camera. The Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro runs on Android 7.1.2 Nougat with Xiaomi’s custom UI, MIUI 9 skinned on top. The device is expected to be updated to Android Oreo in the coming days. In terms of connectivity, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro comes with 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, Infrared Port, microUSB 2.0, FM Radio and a 3.5mm audio jack. The Moto G6 comes with 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS, FM Radio, 3.5mm audio jack and a USB Type-C port. While the Moto G6 lacks an Infrared port, the device comes with a USB Type-C Port, which is a more useful feature among the two.

Pricing

The Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro has been priced at Rs. 13,999 for the 4GB RAM variant and Rs. 16,999 for the 6GB RAM variant. The Moto G6 on the other hand, is priced at Rs. 13,999 for the base variant. In terms of pricing, the Redmi Note 5 Pro is the clear winner.
