We have already covered most of the specs in the Quick Review, but let us have another glance at the specifications of this device. The phone will have a 1.2GHz quad core processor from Mediatek, the MT6589, which is a tried and tested performer, coupled with 1GB of RAM. There’s a 4.5 inch screen, with qHD resolution of 960×540 pixels. The USP of the screen is the implementation of OGS technology – which means the entire front is made up of a single layer of glass. Like any other Mediatek based device, this will also be a Dual SIM (GSM+GSM). Internal memory will be a paltry 4GB, we hope manufacturers soon start shipping phones with 16GB at least. Users can expand the memory using microSD cards of up to 32GB in size. The Xolo Q700 will also sport an impressive 5MP rear camera – with built in BSI support, just like the Q800. The front camera will be a 0.3MP unit, don’t expect great shots with this one but it will suffice for video calling purposes. To power the whole unit will be a 2400mAh battery, which is quite impressive for a 4.5 inch phone and should easily take you through the day. One rarely seen feature in budget phones is the availability of USB OTG (On The Go), and suprisingly, the Q700 supports this as well. The Q700 will be powered by Android 4.2 Jelly Bean, and should be available to buyers very soon. We think this indeed a great launch by Xolo – an almost fully featured, Quad Core device for under 10,000 INR. This was unheard of at that price point until now, and Xolo have given the term ‘value proposition’ a new meaning. We at GadgetsToUse think this device is bound to do well with the great hardware and the superb and very competitive price tag. The coming months should tell us if the device comes to par with expectations.
