Yu claims that the new Yureka Plus is extremely durable with Gorilla Glass 3, reinforced casing and polycarbonate shell. To prove the point, Yureka Plus goes through a drop test treatment, executed by Rahul Sharma, CoFounder of YU Televentures, where the same unit was dropped 52 times before it finally smashed after dropping from 60 to 70 ft high terrace. Other hardware remains same. There is 1.5 GHz Snapdragon 615 octa core chip, with 2 GB RAM, 16 GB Storage, MicroSD card support and Android Lollipop based CyanogenOS. Other features include 4G LTE support, 13 MP rear camera, 5 MP front camera and 2500 mAh battery. It remains to be seen how well the same hardware will handle the increased pixel count. Will it lay further stress on battery backup, which already went one notch downwards after Lollipop update? The pilot flash sales has been scheduled for 24th July and registration for the same starts today. It will compete head to head with Lenovo K3 Note which is selling for the same price of 9,999 INR. A limited edition Alabaster White variant will also be available.
